GUCH Walking Club - Dates and Walks 2011

Postby Paul Polo Willgoss » Sun Jan 23, 2011 5:18 pm

Hi all,

Since November I've with hammering out some ideas for walks for this year, trying to spread ourselves around the country as much as possible, while trying to keep us close to main transport hubs to make lives easier for all.

The walks we've got planned, are:

April A traditional weekend of walks near Birmingham, 9/10 April, and probably this route - in 2 parts http://www.ramblers.org.uk/info/paths/name/b/beacon.htm as ever I'll be working out break points for people who don't want to do the entire walk and as ever of people just want to meet up in evening then that fine:-)

July Its an odd numbered year, which means the GWC tries to get out and do a longer walk - this year its the Norfolk Coastal Path, from Hunstanton to Cromer http://www.walkingclub.org.uk/book_3/wa ... ndex.shtml As you'll see there's good transport links so if people want to walk more or less its easy to get to and from the walk.

The dates for this are; start walking on Saturday 16th July, with probably 4 days worth of walking.

November - Weekend of 12/13 in the Peak District - this will be the traditional autumnal gathering!

If you're interested please get in touch - the keen people will be working on sorting out the details and accommodation in the coming months.
