Has anyone had heart surgery in 1984 at Mrytle street?

Postby Soph » Wed Aug 06, 2008 8:18 pm

Hello.Just wondering if anyone has had heart surgery in 1984 in Liverpool. Just that I would be keen to know who did have anything at this time. My parents remember certain babies that had surgery at this time at Myrtle street.

:D Thanks, soph x

Hi Soph.

I did in 1984 and 1985 in Myrtle Street. Now go to Broadgreen for checkups every year.

Had Mustard Procedure for simple-TGA.

I had a banding operation at mrytle street in 1984 when i was 6 weeks old and a fontan operation when i was 3 years old in 1987.

When Mrytle street closed I was sent to Alder Hey in Liverpool were i had many catheters and 2 pacemaker operations, when i turned 18 i started going to broadgreen were i had my 3rd pacemaker last October and now i am being seen at Manchester royal infirmary because Broadgreen are not able to deal with my complex heart anymore.
