Hey I had mine fitted in January (im a newbie to the world of pacemakers)! I know this is a long way off but im gonna ask anyway, does anyone have one in the abdomen and how r they replaced. Is it general/local anesthetic and how long do u stay in hospital??

In answer to your question kim, i did have a pacemaker in my abdonmen, then I started getting really painful palputations so they moved it to my shoulder, they gave me general anathestic (the one where you get knocked out completely- i always get general and local mixed up) but only because I was only 13 and i think it's law or something for children to have general.
And when i answered "seven years is a world record" well, haha i don't know what i was actually thinking about at the time, cos I had my first pacemaker when i was just one! :? hahaa I don't even understand myself!

My last one current one is in abdomen. I also had them in mu left and right. I think they all the same but its strange i feel palpitations and SVTs more after my last one in 2003 it would be funny if its related to the position
I am still having my palpiations and SVts sorted out
